CRYSTALLIZE Cement-Based Crystalline Waterproofing Mortar
Crystalline waterproofing is a highly effective and long-lasting waterproofing method that penetrates into concrete and forms crystals through a chemical reaction. This method waterproofs concrete from the negative side, blocking pores and capillary cracks to prevent water penetration. Becoming an integral part of the concrete, this crystalline structure is extremely durable against external effects and extends the structure’s lifespan. Easy to apply and environmentally friendly, crystalline waterproofing is especially preferred for reinforced concrete structures, water tanks, basements, retaining walls, and elevator shafts—areas frequently exposed to water.
CRYSTALLIZE Cement-Based Crystalline Waterproofing Mortar
Cement-based, single-component crystalline waterproofing material resistant to negative and positive water pressure, able to transfer into the capillary voids of cement-based surfaces, and provides waterproofing through crystal volume expansion.
Advantages
- Easy to apply.
- Penetrates capillary voids and cracks in cement-based surfaces, providing effective waterproofing.
- Provides a seamless, continuous coating. Suitable for both horizontal and vertical surfaces.
- Resistant to negative and positive water pressure.
- Does not cause corrosion in reinforcements as it is chloride-free.
Application Areas
Used on all cement-based surfaces such as foundations and retaining walls, basements, tunnels, elevator shafts, and similar areas.
Application Features
- The surface must be clean and sound before application.
- Deep cracks and weak surfaces should be repaired 24 hours in advance with DRYFIX TRACK R2 repair mortar.
- Mix 25 KG bag slowly into 7.00-8.00 liters of clean water using a low-speed mixer, stirring for 2-3 minutes until homogeneous. Let rest for 1-2 minutes, then stir again for 30 seconds before use.
- Apply the prepared material onto the surface in at least 2 coats with a brush or trowel. Each coat should be applied perpendicular to the previous one.
- The waiting time between coats is at least 3 hours and maximum 12 hours. If the next coat is applied after more than 12 hours, the surface should be re-moistened before application.
- Do not add water to mortar that is already hardening or hardened.
- Avoid application under frozen conditions, in windy areas, or on hot surfaces when freezing is expected within 24 hours.
Warnings and Recommendations
- Do not add water to the mixture under any circumstances.
- Do not add any foreign materials.
- Surfaces treated with DRYFIX CRYSTALLIZE should be protected from drafts and frost for at least 1 day.
- Wash all tools used immediately with water before they dry.
