Fire-retardant varnish is a specialized coating designed to enhance the fire resistance of wooden substrates. When exposed to high temperatures, this intumescent varnish expands to form a carbonized insulating layer, effectively isolating the underlying wood from oxygen and heat. This delayed ignition significantly increases the time available for evacuation and firefighting efforts.
Thanks to its intumescent formulation, the varnish creates a clear protective film without altering the natural appearance of the wood. It is especially suitable for use in interior architectural elements, garden structures, heritage timber installations, and areas where fire risk is elevated.
Offering both aesthetic preservation and passive fire protection, fire-retardant varnishes are a critical component in comprehensive fire safety strategies for wood-based applications.
Yangına Dayanıklı Vernik WOODLAC®
WOODLAC® is a water-based, transparent, two-component, intumescent fire-resistant varnish. When exposed to heat, it swells to form a carbonized layer. This layer protects the underlying surface from heat and oxygen, thereby delaying the heating and subsequent ignition of the wood substrate.
Applications
This product is used on surfaces such as wood, bamboo, and rattan, and in interior decoration, garden structures, and household goods. It’s also utilized for the preservation of historical building surfaces and in wooden architecture with high fire risk.
