Epoxy Floor Coating DFC-310
Today, with the rapid development of the construction and decorating sectors, flooring solutions offering both aesthetics and durability have gained immense importance. Chief among these solutions is epoxy floor coating, which is preferred across a wide spectrum of venues—from factories and hospitals to shopping centres and modern homes—thanks to the superior physical and chemical resistance it provides. Unlike traditional flooring materials, it creates a seamless surface in the applied area, preventing dust accumulation and adding a smooth, elegant touch to the overall integrity of the space.
For those looking to create a long-lasting and hygienic living space, epoxy flooring systems are nowadays an indispensable alternative. Available in various colour and pattern options, these systems utilise a specially formulated epoxy paint to ensure the floor is both protected against external factors and visually enhanced. Uncompromising in performance even in high-traffic areas, this innovative type of coating maintains its initial brilliance and robustness for years when combined with the right materials and expert craftsmanship.
What is Epoxy Floor Coating?
Epoxy floor coating is a synthetic resin system belonging to the thermoset plastic group, which cures on the applied surface to form a hard, durable, and seamless layer. It is primarily obtained by mixing a liquid epoxy resin with a curing agent (hardener) in specific chemical proportions. Once this reaction is complete, the floor gains extraordinary resistance to mechanical wear.
This type of coating completely seals the porous structure of concrete surfaces, permanently halting the floor's liquid absorption. It is frequently applied, particularly in heavy industrial plants, car parks, and large warehouses, to extend the life of the concrete and prevent structural issues such as cracking or crumbling. The smooth surface that emerges post-application directly improves the overall cleaning quality of the environment.
Forming a much thicker and stronger layer compared to standard paint, this system provides not only a protective barrier but also structural reinforcement for the floor. It can be easily customised to perfectly suit the specific intended use of the space by adding non-slip properties, antistatic features, or different surface textures as required.
DFC 310 Topcoat Epoxy Paint
Dryfix DFC 310 is a two-component, solvent-free, epoxy resin-based topcoat. It is designed to create a non-slip, even, and durable surface on industrial floors. Thanks to its ease of application, it offers a practical solution. It is frequently preferred, especially in industrial areas, on floors, or on walls. DFC 310 stands out with its excellent adhesion properties, resistance to chemicals and abrasion, longevity, and aesthetic appearance.
Advantages of Epoxy Floor Coating
Epoxy flooring systems, one of the most preferred applications in modern architecture and demanding industrial facilities, offer users countless benefits in daily use. The primary advantages provided by these flooring systems, which more than offset their initial investment cost through their long lifespan and increase the value of the space, are as follows:
- High Durability: It demonstrates superior resistance to wear, scratching, and sudden impacts in areas with heavy machinery, forklifts, and heavy foot traffic.
- Chemical Resistance: It acts as a protective, impermeable shield against acids, motor oils, industrial solvents, and other aggressive chemicals.
- Easy Cleaning and Hygiene: Thanks to its seamless and joint-free structure, it prevents the formation of bacteria, dirt, or mould; surface cleaning is highly practical.
- Longevity: When applied and cured correctly, maintenance requirements remain at a minimum, allowing it to preserve its original smooth form for many years.
- Key Features Summary: It exhibits excellent resistance to chemicals, is resistant to friction and wear, creates a jointless surface, is easy to clean, hygienic, requires no maintenance for extended periods, is easy to apply, and is solvent-free.
Application Features
- Solvent-free.
- High mechanical strength.
- Liquid impermeable.
- Glossy surface finish.
- Easy to apply.
- Easy to clean and maintain.
- Slip-resistant surface can be achieved.
Application Areas
The solvent-free epoxy topcoat paint with high mechanical strength and abrasion resistance and easy cleaning can be safely used in many industrial areas and all environments where hygiene is important (including surfaces with plaster application) such as factories, assembly workshops, warehouses, aircraft hangars, stores, parking lots, food facilities, water tanks, hospitals, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, energy plants. It is an ideal solution especially for vertical floor surfaces.
Storage
| Packaging | 17 kg + 3 kg / Set |
| Color | Component A RAL Colors – Component B Transparent |
| Shelf Life | Can be stored unopened in original containers for at least 12 months in dry environments at temperatures between 5°C and 25°C. Containers of unmixed components must be tightly closed to prevent air exposure for next use. |
Consumption
Minimum total consumption: Approx. 600 gr/m²
Application Instructions
Surface Preparations
Substances weakening adhesion forces such as oil, wax, grease, water repellents, loose easily removable particles, and dust must be removed by grinding machine. New concrete must be at least 28 days old. The surface must be primed before application. Concrete surfaces to be coated should meet at least the following standards:
- Hardness: R28 = 15 MPa
- Temperature: 10-30°C
- Surface Moisture: < 4%
Mixing Preparation
Component A and Component B come in separate packages with predetermined mixing ratios. Component B is completely poured into Component A and mixed. Mixing should be done with a mixer at 300 rpm. Being a two-component product, it should be prepared in the specified mixing ratio in quantities to be consumed considering pot life. The product temperature must be above 15°C for homogeneous mixing. Component A should be quickly mixed mechanically, then the hardener (Component B) added carefully. Mix Components A and B mechanically for at least 3 minutes until homogeneous. Use the prepared mixture within the pot life.
Application
The prepared mixture is applied with a short-haired roller in both directions. During application, the relative humidity of air must be maximum 80%, and the application temperature (ambient and surface) should be between +10°C and +30°C. Outdoor applications must be rain-free 24 hours before, during, and 24 hours after application. Floor temperature must be at least 3°C above the dew point. Applied surfaces must be protected for at least 24 hours. The material reaches its mechanical values approximately in 7 days as per technical data sheet.
