Water-Resistant Pool Paint Pool 100
POOL 100 is a specially formulated pool paint designed to give pool surfaces a long-lasting and aesthetic appearance. It is a two-component polyurethane resin. The mixture obtained by mixing components A and B in the specified ratios offers quick application due to its fast curing feature. It comes in small packages of about 4.5 kg/set as the prepared mixture needs to be applied quickly to the surface.
Choosing the right paint is very important to extend the life and preserve the vibrancy of your pool. Especially the developed two-component polyurethane resin-based paints cure chemically and form an excellent bond even on surfaces directly exposed to water. Unlike water-based paints, they provide long-lasting resistance against constant water pressure and chemicals in your pool. Thus, the paint preserves your pool’s color for years without peeling or cracking issues.
Product Features
- Does not crack or detach from the surface thanks to its hard and elastic structure.
- Shows high resistance against alkali and chlorine; unaffected by pool chemicals.
- Can be colored with all kinds of color options.
- Consumption: 0.75 – 1 kg/m².
- Packaging: Metal can containing 4.0 kg of Component A and 0.5 kg of Component B (total 4.5 kg).
- Color Options: Standard white and blue; can be produced in special colors.
Usage Areas
Can be used in pools, water tanks, water reservoirs, ornamental pools, ponds, water channels, dams, and similar areas.
Application Instructions
- All dirt, dust, oil, and other residues on the application surface must be cleaned and thoroughly dried.
- Before applying on concrete and plaster surfaces, the surfaces must be primed with DFC-100 epoxy primer.
- Components A and B should be mixed continuously with a mixer for 3 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
- The prepared mixture should be applied to the surface with a brush, roller, or airless spray gun and allowed to dry.
- After ensuring the first coat is completely dry, apply the second coat within 24 hours.
- The applied material must cure for at least 7 days before filling the pool with water.
Frequently Asked Questions
Pools are painted with a two-component, aliphatic hardener-based, polyurethane resin paint that is waterproof and resistant to the harsh conditions of water bodies, with superior adhesion and elasticity.
This successful product is also used for painting similar structures such as water reservoirs and ponds.
1. Mix the pool paint components in a clean container for about 3 minutes.
2. The prepared mixture should be applied to the surface within 1-1.5 hours. (This duration is shorter in summer due to higher temperatures.)
3. Use a synthetic epoxy roller during application.
4. Apply in two coats with a 24-hour waiting period between coats.
5. After painting, wait 7 days before filling the pool with water.
* Completely drain the pool water and wait 1 week for moisture to dry.
* Inspect and repair any water leaks first. Cracks and holes can be repaired with Dryfix Dfr 2000 epoxy mortar.
* Thoroughly clean the surface and remove chemical deposits.
* Pressure wash the entire pool surface.
* After preparation, abrade the pool floor to improve paint adhesion (especially on ceramic, BTB mosaic coatings).
* Abrasion can be done with a spiral machine or Dryfix Anti Slip Solution.
* After abrasion, apply Dryfix Dfc 100 transparent epoxy primer, which is waterproof and resistant to water pressure.
* Allow the primer to dry for 1 day before painting.
* Paint the pool with Dryfix Pool 100, a two-component polyurethane resin-based pool paint.
* The prepared mixture must be applied within 1-1.5 hours. This time shortens in summer due to high temperatures.
* Wait 24 hours for the first coat to dry before applying the second.
* Allow 7 days curing time before filling the pool with water after painting.
Since ornamental pools have concrete or plastered surfaces, if there is no dust on the surfaces, paint can be applied directly. For deep or dusty and weak surfaces, first epoxy primer should be used, followed by a polyurethane topcoat pool paint.
As the name implies, ornamental pools prioritize aesthetics. Therefore, the pool paint used must have an aliphatic hardener, UV resistance, and long-lasting color vibrancy.
After the concrete construction of the pool is completed, before any plastering is done, the pool is lined with a PVC-based membrane called linear coating that shapes to the pool. Pool coating also refers to applications done with waterproof, durable, pressure-resistant products like epoxy coating.
Pricing types such as per kg and per m² based on possible consumption depending on the surface condition;
Epoxy Pool Paint Primer Dryfix Dfp 800: priced 95-110 TL/kg, price per m²: 18-21 TL
Epoxy Pool Coating Primer Dryfix Dfc 100: priced 110-130 TL/kg, price per m²: 35-44 TL
Polyurethane Resin-Based Pool Paint Dryfix Pool 100: priced 160-200 TL/kg, price per m²: 48-60 TL
Pool insulation refers to the processes done to prevent large water bodies, such as pools, from leaking water through joints and connections for various reasons without reducing the water inside (excluding evaporation).
It is insulation done with liquid insulation products that withstand constant water pressure, do not dissolve from the surface, and maintain their form under the pressure created by the water mass.
The following applications should be done sequentially to prevent pool leaks:
• Chamfers should be applied to horizontal and vertical joints, and epoxy putty should be used for this process.
• Possible leaks at pool joints should also be prevented with chamfer tape.
• A fully elastic waterproofing material composed of cement and acrylic components should be applied in 3 layers over the entire surface with mesh reinforcement between layers.
• If ceramic, mosaic, or BTB products will be used as the final coating material, epoxy grout should be used to prevent water leaks through the joints.
• For painting, epoxy and polyurethane pool paints, which are naturally waterproof due to their resin structures, should be preferred instead of water-based paints.
Consumption: Approximately 350 – 400 gr/m² for two coats. A 4.5 kg/set package covers 13-15 m² surface area.
Storage Conditions: Shelf life is 12 months. Store at 5-35°C away from direct sunlight.
Packaging: 4.5 kg/set and 18 kg/set
